Well, not exactly. Scott Foley, who played Noel Crane in the television show Felicity, is the guest on this week’s episode of House on AXN.

Scott is now more known as Jennifer Garner’s (Alias) ex-husband. After his stint on Felicity Scott has appeared on several shows but none has taken off like his previous hit. It’s been a while since I got to watch him onscreen so this should be a treat for me. (I’ve always rooted for Noel versus Ben even though that decision just screws up the whole premise of Felicity.)

House is aired by AXN Asia on Tuesday night at 10 pm (Manila, HK, Singapore, China time).

First it was Buffy, then came Angel. Fans of Joss Whedon and his mythology can rejoice as Star World started showing Angelon its daily 5 pm (Manila, HK, Singapore, China time) schedule. They were showing the penultimate season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer up until last week and as I write this, the very first episode of the spinoff is on air.

I’m not sure if the final season of Angel is still being aired on the same channel on Friday nights at 9 but you can still catch it Sunday nights on Studio 23 at 11:30pm.

If you love Angel and would love to relive his saga first with Doyle and Cordelia, Wesley, Fred and Gunn this is a good chance to enjoy it all over again.

Maybe they can show Firefly and make the Whedonverse on this side of the world complete.

Incidentally, Don Adams, the actor who played Maxwell Smart – Agent 86, died a month ago (September 25). He also voiced the Inspector Gadget character in cartoons.

Prior to stumbling upon the broadcasts three weeks ago, I’ve only heard of these shows from articles and other writings on television. This is the first time that I am seeing either series. I finally know who Col. Klink is!

Star World is showing Whose Line Is It Anyway? everyday at 4:30pm. This is such a treat as the cast always provides smart and entertaining improv comedy in each and every show.

The government channel PTV 4 (then, now NBN 4) used to air the original British version of this show nearly 10 years ago. When the American incarnation started airing, I didn’t think it would be as fun as I was biased against Drew Carey who I didn’t like back then.

While Ryan Stiles and Colin Mochrie both appeared on the original British version (if I remember right Greg Proops also did), my favorite of them all is Wayne Brady. I just find it amazing how he can sing songs on the fly. This is not lost on the television academy since he has been honored with a nomination at the Emmy Awards.

Looking it up on IMDB the part is played by Jon Jon Briones, one-time engineer in Miss Saigon. He even shared the stage with Wayne Newton, Mr. Las Vegas himself in the same episode.

So I was not able to watch the Emmys. I got caught in a meeting and dinner with friends. Saying that, here are my comments on some of the winners:

Best Supporting Actor (Comedy) – Brad Garrett, Everybody Loves Raymond
This is Brad Garrett’s third win for his character Robert. I love Brad on the show and whenever he guests on the talk shows. He’s always entertaining to watch. As it is, there are talks of a spinoff featuring his character. Jeremy Piven was the hot favorite for this award. As much as I love Garrett, I was rooting for Jeffrey Tambor. I love my Arrested guys!

Best Supporting Actress (Comedy) – Doris Roberts, Everybody Loves Raymond
Doris Roberts has been cleaning out this category for the past few years and I couldn’t be happier for her win this time. However, one cannot but think that Emmy voters are giving Raymond accolades since they won’t be back for another season.

Best Actor (Comedy) – Tony Shaloub, Monk
I haven’t yet seen the third season of the show but I’ve always liked Shaloub from his previous shows like Wings and Stark Raving Mad. I’ve noted before in my old blog that Shaloub gives Adrian a quality that makes the character human, not to be pitied and not be laughed at. Considering the character, that means some good acting chops.

Best Actress (Comedy) – Felicity Huffman, Desperate Housewives
I bet there are a lot of reactions going the way of Teri Hatcher should have won. However, Huffman is the one who has the best credentials among them all. Maybe there’s another meaning to her “one of those acctresses” acceptance speech?

Best Comedy – Everybody Loves Raymond
A lot of people were expecting the Desperate Housewives to win this award although it’s arguable whether the show is really a comedy. This is a sweet send off after a good nine-year run for Raymond. Still, I wanted Arrested Development to win here.

Best Drama – Lost
Yeah! Lost kicks major butt! JJ Abrams also got an Emmy for direction. Can’t you tell that I love this show? (And JJ, as well.)

I was thinking whether I should comment on the drama categories since it won’t be fair as I am not a viewer of Boston Legal and I only catch Medium ocassionally. But come on, Patricia Arquette beating out Glenn Close from The Shield or Frances Conroy of Six Feet Under? Glenn Close is simply intense on The Shield and Frances Conroy always delivers a compelling performace. Ms. Arquette, you’re not the only one who got surprised.

Other wins I was happy about were the writing award for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and repeat win for The Amazing Race.

All in all, the winners were a mixed bunch of hits and misses. Shows like Veronica Mars and Gilmore Girls are sorely overlooked much the same way as Buffy. Just because they are on UPN and the WB seems to turn off the academy leaving them to cling to old hats such as The West Wing and Will and Grace.

Late Night with Conan O’Brien - There is something to be said about this Irish-American bloke. The show can be pretty juvenile but that is what makes it rock! Plus The Max Weinberg 7 is the best band on late night. My favorite gag right now is Frankenstein wastes a minute of our time. That is just one lame Frankie! The Walker Texas Ranger lever is also a hoot!

nip/tuck - It’s haunting theme song keeps playing in my mind. This is guilty pleasure to the max. The storyline is engaging albeit very soapish. Plus the sight of Julian McMahon’s butt every now and then proves to be very stimulating. (^_^) The first season’s DVD is on it’s way! Yay!

The O.C. - Another soap operaticdram series. Adam Brody’s Seth is so adorable. In recent times, drama about high society (Titans, anyone?) usually tank but this particular drama with the inclusion of Ryan’s wrong side of the tracks story really works for me.

Extra Challenge - The best Pinoy reality show! This show started as a news magazine program with Karen Davila and Paolo Bediones. It has now morphed into an exciting reality-based show with Paolo still the host now joined by Phoemela Barranda. The only thing that I do not like in this show is Ethel Booba. She’s funny but she can be too much to take. Can somebody please rein her in? It’s primetime for goodness sakes!

Queer Eye for the Straight Guy - I have such a blast whenever I watch this show. I laugh at the droll statements from Ted and the flamboyant exclamations of Carson. Thom is so low-key but good with his designs. He seems to capture the personality of their subject so perfectly. Kyan has this “come look at me” aura. But I am so drawn to Jai for some reason. He so sensitive and quiet but those moments of levity are so funny! They are all just so … GAY!

C.S.I. - Of course I wouldn’t forget my long time favorite of them all. Grissom still packs a punch! I don’t care much about the Miami spin-off but I’m looking forward to the New York experience. Gary Sinise and Melena Kanakaredes lead the cast proving that casting that Caruso character was a glitch in the matrix.

The Amazing Race 5 - I used to be a Survivor freak but once I switched to The Amazing Race there’s no turning back! How can anyone go wrong with this Emmy winner? Even though my favorites, The Gimps, Jim and Marsha have been eliminated this is still worth the while. How come it seems as if there are more jerks on board this season?

Iron Chef – Who can resist food? (Well, okay some people can.) This show just reminds me so much of the anime Cooking Master Boy. Kaga is just so funny without meaning to be. Plus all that delicious food!

I miss Zoe Busiek: Wild Card and Monk (DVD of the first season is also now available!). Here’s a toast to more time in front of the TV. >[] < --not my original design, it's Kristin’s tubers sign off
